Our History
Cape Fear Mold & Tool & Co., Inc. is an industrial machining and manufacturing company founded in 1996. The company is family-owned and operated by Bob Rockwell and son Mike Rockwell with a combined 50 years of experience in the mold-building industry. Cape Fear Mold & Tool Co., Inc., was founded to service the growing plastic injection mold industry in Southeast and began mainly repairing molds & dies. The company quickly moved into creating quick turnaround prototype molds and soon after into developing high quality production molds.
The original 6,000 square-foot facility, located in Wilmington, NC is a modern building housing the latest in mold creation and repair. Due to a shortage of space and more machining requirements, an additional 4,000 square feet was added. The additional space allowed for several new offices and machine purchases including a 3D printer. Our building, equipment, and staff are devoted to producing the highest quality product for our customers. We're proud of our high level of customer satisfaction.

Our Capabilities
Our capabilities in mold design, machining, heat treat, grinding, EDM, and mold sampling allow us to keep all aspects of your project in-house. Due to the tight tolerances and wide range of capabilities involved with plastic injection mold construction, producing Progressive Dies, high tolerance components, and precision fixturing, have also become part of our services.
New product development and manufacturing, being a growing need in southeastern NC, has also become a specialty. With full CAD design stations and 3D printing offered as a service as well, if you want to produce one part, one hundred or millions with the highest quality molds, Cape Fear Mold can help with your next project.
